Joe hosts the legendary CCR lead man John Fogerty in one of the most star spangled episodes in the history of JRE. Sometimes Joe gets a guest whose fame and body of work has truly transcended the culture. Fogerty recounted his experiences being sued by his own bandmates for “sounding too much like himself”. He paints a very sympathetic picture considering he was the source of the talent and creativity that created CCR.
Fogerty describes his experience growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, attending Catholic schools after multi-leg bus and train commutes in the first grade, and living in El Cerrito, CA.
Joe relates to Fogerty’s fame but is over matched in terms of raw talent. Again, when Joe gets truly outstanding musical talent on the show, you can see the discrepancy in greatness. Reminds me of when Joe desperately tries to sound smart when interviewing Elon Musk.
It is a great episode for music and Hollywood fans. Give it a listen below on Youtube!
